Abstract
Background and Aims: The International Committee of the Red Cross is an international institution whose philosophy has been to help the victims of armed conflicts, gradually developed its mission.. The purpose of this article is to examine the role of the International Red Cross in the development of humanitarian rights.
Materials and Methods: This article is descriptive and analytical. The materials and data are also qualitative and data collection has been used in the collection of materials and data.
Ethical Considerations: In this article, the originality of the texts, honesty and trustworthiness are respected.
Findings: The findings showed that the International Committee of the Red Cross can interpret and even create the laws and legal customs of armed conflicts. Among all non-governmental organizations that perform similar tasks, the International Committee of the Red Cross has been prioritized. Because in addition to the fact that its mission clearly the rights of war, the committee also focuses on fulfilling its duties in the conditions of peace, and for this reason, it leads to the development . The laws and customs established by the International Red Cross have the power to be enforced in international criminal courts.
Conclusion: The special role of interpretation and the creation of a committee regarding the laws of humanitarian rights, the study plans of customary humanitarian rights are among the important actions of the International Red Cross in the development of humanitarian rights.
