Abstract
Background and Aim: One of the examples of human rights that is recognized based on the covenant of economic, social and cultural rights is the right to health. Based on this, the aim of this article is to examine the approach of the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee in relation to the management of epidemic diseases with regard to the spread of the Corona pandemic.
Materials and Methods: This article is descriptive and analytical. Materials and data are also qualitative and data collection was used in collecting materials and data.
Ethical Considerations: In this article, the originality of the texts, honesty and trustworthiness are respected.
Findings: The findings showed that one of the dimensions of the right to enjoy the highest attainable standards of health is the management of epidemic diseases. Clause (3)2 of Article 12 of the Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights specifies that one of the steps to be taken to enjoy this right is the necessary measures to prevent, treat and control epidemics.
Conclusion: The result is that although the committee pays special attention to this obligation during the outbreak of Corona and makes detailed recommendations in this regard, at other times, this aspect of the right to health is neglected by the committee.
