Abstract
Background and Aims: sustainable development is an important and effective issue in any political and social system, which in the political dimension is affected by people’s participation or the means of achieving it, such as the electoral system. Is.
Materials and Methods: This article has used descriptive and analytical methods and library and documentation tools.
Ethical Considerations: In writing this article, ethical principles such as citation and trustworthiness have been observed.
Findings: An important part of sustainable development is related to political development and people’s participation in their destiny, which can be realized through the adoption of a participatory electoral system. The proportional electoral system for the elections of the Islamic Council has the advantage that it causes the all-round participation of the people in the process of political development through the activation of parties and civil society.
Conclusion: activation of parties in elections, attention to national and macro interests, creation of conditions for the participation of ethnic groups and minorities, creation of an accountability system through parties and party lists, as well as attention to the participation of regions (provinces) in elections from One of the advantages of the proportional electoral system is that it creates sustainable development in the political dimension.
