Abstract
Background and Aim: Arash gas field is one of the important sources of dispute between Iran and Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf, which has not been studied yet. The issue addressed in this Paper in light of the 1982 Convention on the Law of the Sea's approach to the settlement of seas disputes is examined.
Materials and Methods: Thise article is Analytical descriptive and the library method uses.
Ethical considerations: In this article, Originality of texts, honesty and trusteeship Has been complied with.
Findings: According to the Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982), governments are required cooperating with each other in disputes over common offshore oil and gas in order to conclude an agreement and avoiding actions that the conclusion of the agreement would jeopardized. The Convention on the Law of the Sea's international law a single, defined version of the settlement of disputes, except for some general rules for the peaceful settlement of disputes, does not provide and the settlement of disputes under international law of the sea to bilateral or multilateral agreements is entrusted. This also to the Arash gas field applies.
Conclusion: The unilateral actions of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in the exploitation of Arash gas field are contrary to the guidelines of the Convention on the Law of the Sea, it is necessary for the Iranian government exploiting this field and at the same time negotiate a trilateral agreement with Kuwait, Saudi Arabia continue.
